I bought this stone mainly for making pizzas but it does well with bread too. I first bought some Mexican unglazed floor tiles from Home Depot for the pizza cooking. They all cracked in the first 3 uses. I cook my pizzas at 550 degrees and the pizza stone is able to stay in one piece! I have not used any of the more expensive stones and at this point have no reason to try. I am also thinking of buying one more of these stones for making two pizzas at a time.

I have little magic chef gas oven in my vintage aluminum trailer. Now I can make authentic pizza with great tasting crisp crust.I must admit my first attempt was a disaster. I used a wooden pizza peel with some flour on it and tried to slide in on the stone but it stuck and sauce and toppings dripped on the stone and left a black stain I'm not sure I can scrape off. However once I started using parchment paper it works perfectly. I made some naan indian bread the other day and it worked great for that as well. I love this stone..before my pizza was burnt on one side and raw on the other. My old gas stove wasn't heating evenly..but this stone is just what the doctor ordered.

I bought this pizza stone to replace my old one that broke in half, I should have just kept the halves and baked on those! This pizza stone is really thin meaning it gets too hot and burns the bottom of everything I try to bake. I wish I had my old one. "Old Stone Oven" is the one you should buy.
